Royal Mail celebrates the Royal Armouries - the UK's national museum of arms and armour. The miniature sheet, comprising four 1st class stamps, features artifacts from 'The Treasures from the Royal Armouries'. The background of the sheet features detail of Domaru armour, c.1570, presented to King James I by Tokugawa Hidetada. The stamps show: Sword & scabbard, Ming dynasty, c.1420; Flintlock gun by Simpson of York, c.1738; Japanese helmet, Edo period, c.1680 and European sword, c.1365-1432.
The coin cover encapsulates a 1935 One Penny coin for the year the Royal Armouries became a national museum and bears a Leeds handstamp.
