Royal Mail have issued a miniature sheet to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. The miniature sheet comprises four stamps featuring wood engravings by British artist Andrew Davidson. The stamps look at the Coronation and beyond, to the New Carolean era, focusing on issues important to the new King. The background of the sheet is also a wood engraving depicting the rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock - foilage symbolic of the four countries of the UK.
The BS set comprises four covers that each focus on the buildings and sequence of events of the Coronation. Each cover bears one of the stamps from the 2023 Coronation sheet with an appropriate handstamp and a stamp from the 1953 Coronation issue for Queen Elizabeth II. A fascinating and informative set of covers.
