The ten stamp set focuses on the migratory birds that visit the UK annually, in the spring and summer.
The stamps, all 1st class, have been illustrated by Irish ornithologist Killian Mullarney and feature: Nightjar (Caprimulgus europaeus); Pied Flycatcher (Ficedula hypoleuca); Swift (Apus apus); Yellow Wagtail (Motacilla flava); Arctic Skua (Stercorarius parasiticus); Stone-curlew (Burhinus oedicnemus); Arctic Tern (Sterna paradisaea); Swallow (Hirundo rustica); Turtle Dove (Streptopelia turtur) and Montagu's Harrier (Circus pygargus).
The Gold 500 cover image is framed by a 22ct gold-blocked border. A 1980 15p Wellow Wagtail stamp complements the cover image. The cover bears a Wagtail Way Thetford handstamp. Numbered limited edition of 500.
