The commemorative Palace of Westminster 150th anniversary miniature sheet comprises two 1st class and two £1.63 stamps depicting four of the extraordinarily ornate palace interiors – the Norman Porch; the Chapel of St Mary Undercroft; St Stephen’s Hall and the Royal Gallery - and a detailed longitudinal section through Central Lobby and both Chambers.
The cover encapsulates a 1950 halfpenny piece set into an image of the House of Commons to mark the official re-opening of the chamber, following its wartime damage, by HM King George VI. The cover is completed by a Westminster, London SW1 pictorial Union Flag handstamp.
