The 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War is commemorated in eight stamps capturing the sense of relief and celebration felt by service personnel and civilians when news of the conflict’s end was announced. Also featured in these stamps are images of personnel returning from overseas, as well as the return of children evacuated from major cities. The stamps are issued in pairs of 2nd Class, 1st Class, £1.42 and £1.63 values.
The Gold 500 cover complements the stamps with a 22ct gold-block framed black & white image of one of many thousands of street parties organised for the celebrations flanked by a pair of doves echoing the design of the Peacehaven East Sussex pictorial handstamp. Numbered Limited Edition of 500.
