The 2020 Christmas issue features stained glass windows depicting The Virigin and Child from churches in the English Midlands, East Anglia and Yorkshire.
Each of the stamp covers also celebrates St Eanswythe, the 7th century Anglo-Saxon princess, Abbess and Folkestone's Patron Saint, and the town's historic Parish Church which houses her relics and which celebrates its 800th anniversary this year.
The GOLD 500 cover features the image of the superb icon of St Eanswythe presented to the church by Greek Orthodox pilgrims, framed by a sumptuous 22ct gold-blocked design together with an image of her relics as laid out during the archaeological investigation in January 2020 which confirmed them to be genuine. The relics have been preserved in the church and its predecessors since Eanswythe's death c660AD. The cover is completed by a Bethlehem Llandeilo Virgin & Child pictorial handstamp. Numbered limited edition of 500.
