This issue celebrates two significant anniversaries in British stamp history: 150 years of the Royal Philatelic Society - the oldest society of its type in the world - and the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Postal Museum by HM The Queen in 1969.
The Miniature Sheet comprises three 1st class and three £1.55 reproducing landmark Royal Mail stamp design classics: the 1891 Queen Victoria £1 green; the Edward VII 1910 Tyrian Plum 2d - one of the rarest of all UK stamps; the George V 1913 2/6 High Value known as the 'Seahorses'; the Edward VIII 1936 1 1/2d; the George VI 1940 1/2d Penny Black centenary commemroative and the Elizabeth II 1953 coronation 2 1/2d.
The BLCS 5000 cover complements the miniature sheet with an image of a 1924 British Empire Exhibition 1d commemorative flanked by images of George V and bears a London WC1X handstamp.
