This superb Benham cover commemorates the 50th anniversary of man landing on the moon. Pride of place goes to the Ascension Islands 50th Anniversary of the First Man on the Moon Crown coin, which as well as featuring the official NASA logo depicts the Lunar Module, the Earth high in the lunar sky, the 'Stars and Stripes' and Buzz Aldrin, the second man to set foot on the moon. A 1st class gold NVI and 50p definitive are tied by a 16 July 2019 pictorial Jodrell Bank, Macclesfield handstamp for the 50th anniversary of the launch of Apollo 11.
To enhance the cover further it carries the Guernsey Post Souvenir Sheet, issued on 20 July 2019, exactly 50 years after the landing. The four steps depict vibrant full-colour images of the landing giving a new visual dimension to the somewhat understandably blurred live television pictures. The sheet is tied by the Guernsey Post 50th Anniversary handstamp.
A limited edition of just 50 covers.
