The Representation of the People Act was passed in February 1918, following decades of lobbying and activism. This issue marks the contribution of the many different campaigning organisations involved. The stamps feature original photography documenting the activities of the women in the early years of the 20th century.
The cover shows a contemporary image framed by 22ct gold-blocked design, depicting three leading women campaigners together with an informative cachet and London SW1 handstamp for the Houses of Parliament.
