Hampton Court Palace is one of the best-known and grandest of Britain's historic Royal Residences and is the third in a series of Royal Mail issues featuring Royal Palaces following Buckingham Palace (2014) and Windsor Castle (2017).
The Retail Stamp Book features two 1st Class commemoratives depicting the Great Hall and the King's Great Bedchamber, flanking four Machin 1st class NVI Definitives. The six stamps in the booklet are self-adhesive and printed in gravure as opposed to the main issue stamps which are litho and gummed.
The Gold 500 cover depicts one of the magnificent Great Hall corbels in an image framed by a 22ct gold-blocked design. The cover is completed by a cachet and a Tudor Rose, East Molesley handstamp. Signed by English actor Richard Dillane who played British agent Peter Nicholls in Ben Affleck's 2012 Iran-based political thriller Argo. Numbered Limited Edition of 500.
