Some of the surviving windmills and watermills featured in this Royal Mail issue are over 400 years old, many of which are still in working order. The six stamps serve as a tribute to these well-loved buildings.

For this cover, the image of Woodchurch Windmill in Kent is bordered by a 22 ct gold blocked design. The stamps bear a pictorial windmill Ashford handstamp. Issued in a numbered limited edition of 500.
