20 November 2017 marks a unique milestone in the history of the British Royal Family when HM The Queen and HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh celebrated their Platinum Wedding Anniversary.
The commemorative miniature sheet comprises three pairs of 1st class and £1.57 stamps with evocative images of the then Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip on the occasion of their engagement in July 1947; their wedding in Westminster Abbey and during their honeymoon. The stamps are set against a detailed image of the Princess's wedding dress.
This Gold cover carries a charming image of the newly married couple framed by an ornate 22ct gold-blocked design. The image is one of the official portraits taken after the ceremony in Westminster Abbey and the cover is completed by a Special Balmoral handstamp.
